Clean the lens before installing if needed. I too wanted to mention that the online video allowed me to remove it without any problems and the replacement was just as easy. Set all needles aside, and remove gauge face. After much frustration, I found that those stupid white gauge faces didn't let enough light in and made hot spots across the entire gauge face. You can receive a refund by returning a suitable old core. I don't think it's right, especially something that they know is common.
Then using the soldering pencil apply a dot of solder to each leg. Of course it was covered. Dodge for life and now I know why!!! Cut a small piece of masking tape and place it on the gauge face at the end of the each needle, then use a pen or Sharpie marker and locate the position of each needle. New Stepper Motor soldered into place. Grip the dashboard bezel around the gauge cluster and radio with your hands and pull it towards you to release the clips that hold it in place. When he bought it the oil pressure gauge was acting up he thought it was just a sending unit no biggie but then the gauge cluster goes out.
My water pump went and from that point it hasn't acted up. As it turns out, every stock gauge cluster will go out eventually, as the speedometer will eventually start reading incorrectly. Many thanks, the process worked well - it is very disconcerting to be driving down the road with '0' oil pressure.
