If codes cleared with a scanner and return check pressure switch assembly and wiring and voltage feed. Also, transmission will intermittently fail. This complaint is to register this observation with my vehicle. The guy who is selling it keep telling me that this truck came with the Allison Transmission. Outstanding — great acceleration,braking and handling built well but small things may pop off on interior interior and exterior great 21-22mpg highway bt suffers in city.
After I clear the codes, and drive the truck, it is ok. Upon further inspection, the extension housing of the transmission cracked and was leaking transmission oil. Had the transfer case rebuilt last summer. Found this on the web: Any validity to this? I have read the bulletin and it clearly states that transmissions showing this code and falling within a specified build date which is stated on the bulletin are to be replaced and that no further diagnosis be performed. I will not buy another gm car in my lifetime.
On the way to dealership rick hendrix Chevrolet , I noticed that it would not shift into 4th overdrive. I am lucky so far. As far as being in a pickup, I have never seen an Allison behind a 6. Should I be concerned about these codes? I thenk there should be a recall on this because if I had something in tow or the parking brake were to fail it could posibly injure or kill some one if it were to roll away. I did have the repair shop tear the transmission down to determine the exact cause of the failure and they stated that it was the plastic pistons in the accumulator housing that failed causing the transmission to over heat which in turn damaged other components within the transmission. My codes are back again. Was in the shop 3 times for Tcase problems, but last time they totally rebuilt it. Talked to the Service Rep right before they closed on Christmas Eve. The vehicle was checked by the listed dealer, whom noted that general motors has no correction available for the downshifting and engine racing in overdrive. But it was not with out fail. No lights come on and it runs great. My transmission falls within the time line in the bulletin.
Shifted into Park and back to Reverse again. I'm sure the truck has never had a new trans filter put on. It was not a strong enough part for the transmission. Thankfully it wasn't parked so it would have rolled down the ramp. He drove slowly to the dealer for inspection while the vibration weakened at a reduced speed.
Replaced water pump at 38000 miles. Got home Monday and had a message from the Dealer on my answering machine. Other than that, its used for light duty use. They gave the same diagnosis with the same malfunction code. Maybe the solution is to just drive the truck more often! My transmission falls within the time line in the bulletin. At 37260 miles the gear failed, my vehicle it did not have reverse, and it would not shift into 2nd gear. I know the tow truck guy thought I was crazy.
