A diesel engine uses a high pressure fuel system,which means that it can't have air in it,it's kinda like the hydraulic brake system,if their is air in it,it won't work right. I ended having him take my alarm out when I had the same incident happen after the 2nd time. Is it simply plug and play or is there more to it? I've ran out plenty of times cuz my gauge isn't accurate since i put a 50 gallon titan tank on it so yeah that should solve it, oh to activate the self-prime, just turn your switch on like you would for your glow plugs you should hear the vacuum pump under the hood. Then slacken bleed screw on fuel pump,hand prime the fuel lift pump,until the air as been bled from the system, tighten bleed screw,crank engine,if it does not start ,repeat performance. If you don't or it doesn't work like mine then, there is 2 fuses under the dash, put the key in the ignition and turn it forward, pull one of the fuses out and then start the car that should reset it. You better tape duct on top windshield. Thnaks for the name of the company. Disconnect air bag electrical connector and set aside.
I own an F250 Super Duty with a 6 disc in dash, but I know most of the Ford stereos use the same encoders. Took a light tester tool, and checked all the fuses. The thing that's not related to the doors is the automatic headlight postion to the left doesn't work either. Funny that it's junk that shouldn't be on a truck anyway. Hopefully I can put it off till spring when I will have more time to look at it.
Look under the dash on the drivers side, you will see a larger round suport running horizontally. So looks like you can put it into gear to get the gas going if you have someone to push you. A few months ago, I replaced the dome lamp assembly in my truck. Its kind of annoying to all of a sudden lose power to radio and windows. Sounds like you are getting water in the fuse block under the dash.

The owners manual usually does not show all the fuses that are for a particular circuit---only the major uses of that fuse. If the radio won't turn on at all, the unit is defective and will need to be replaced. I can hit the mute buttton, then attempt to reduce the volume, and it usually goes down. I have heard of the door switch thing too btw. The faceplace is easily removed from the head unit.

What this is doing is Pr … iming your vehicle, removing the air from the lines, and rebuilding the presure in your fuel rail and injectors. Also the dome light won't come on when opening the door. Some need to be towed to a shop and the injector taken apart, others just need to be cranked for a minute and maybe a little starting fluid. Sometimes if you put the fuse back before starting it the alarm will just continue to try and reset itself, but not start the car.
