Sorry for the crude description. When I asked what brand they were, my salesman opened up the brocheur and showed me where it stated 1500 Z-71s had Bilstein shocks and if I remember right, it even had a photo of them. I don't do a lot of off road, but when I do it's mainly mud on hunting lease roads and climbing hills at the same place. I could be wrong about that photo, though. If you had to put a number on it, many professionals recommend changing out your factory shocks around 50,000 miles.
These Gabriel ultra shocks made a great improvement. I'll have to see if I still have the brocheur. These are very high quality mono tube shocks meaning the Oil and Gas is contained in separate tubes in the shock. How is your steering response? No plate services or mechanics on-site.
