I got the van in December 07 and it only has 4900 kms on the odo!! Well, I am not just judging them on th eMyGig product. Now to see if it becomes a reality. You should google it for your state, but I thought I read somewhere that it also included a specific number of issues within a particular time period. I really believe you got a lemon. These types of things are almost always software related.
If your Navigation shows that it is searching for authorization. Powering down the radio, or the cell phone, or my bluetooth does not work. You have to do this each time, but its not that big of a deal. I think I have narrowed it down to this scenario: If the car is off, and U-Connect is activated, and I start the car - it goes into the no-sound mode. As for lemon laws - there are no such thing in Canada. I didn't think dealers could do that if you have the manufacturer's warranty in place.
Obviously this is for the front passenger's use, and not intended for the driver. We get home and I start playing with the stereo. I'm worried that the hard drive will go out some day and render the navigation system inoperative at the worst possible moment. My system is fully updated with the latest versions. I felt like an idiot! After gliding through all these posts, I guess there's a real plus in being an old fart. Another problem is that the Manufacturer will always standby the dealer. I might have a few left if I look hard enough, but you should be able to find something at a local salvage yard. You know if there are millions of transistors in a one-inch square part, there is no one alive with good enough eyesight to peel it apart, find the defective part, and replace it.
It has the new firmware and software. Like I originally said, I'd go through the corporate office on this, if your local dealership really isn't willing to service your under-warranty vehicle. I will say that I am sure that Chrysler didn't manufacture the hard drive so it is probably hard to fault them on its failure, if that is what happened. It is reasonable to expect in that range we should be getting a quality vehicle. Anything with a digital display has at least one microprocessor in it. Right now, they're waiting on a patch that's supposed to be released by Chrysler very soon.

Isn't the lemon law something along the lines of visiting the dealer to fix the same problem 3 times or similar? But when I showed up, guess what??? When the line of vision with the Satellite is broken so goes the signal. We are paying relatively big bucks for these amenities and are hardly working. Those would work in your van but they will not mount properly. MyGig has been out for some time, not just new to the Chrysler vans.
This has happened to me three times, in this same way. The volume control doesnt go up. I agree that I'd be calling Chrysler about it. They are much more likely to fail than the solid state firmware based navigation systems. I suppose it's nothing earth shattering, but I wondering if eventually you might be able to get the updates via this button directly over the Sat.

I also noticed that the sound level indicator didn't even show up as I adjusted the volume like it normally does. I agree that I'd be calling Chrysler about it. I am pretty computer literate so I go right to my computer, put some pics on a thumb drive and try to transfer them to the radio. That's not to say there isn't reason enough for you guys to be mad about it, I sure would be too if I paid as much money for a new car and my stereo didn't work.
