There is a shudder every once in a while during low speed turning. I had this vehicle since July 2004 and since then I've been to the dealership a number of times everytime they said that everything was ok and showed me paperwork stating from gm canada that clonking, ticking etc. The brakes pads were replaced every three months, this has been ongoing for the last two years. Lets hope it doesn't need another one. Has anyone seen this - if so, suggestions on how to fix it?? Do you have any more ideas if you do please help iam running out of ideas on this truck. I have checked the vss, iss and the oss and all three sensors will give me ac signal back to the pcm. Husband was outside washing the vehicle, while the wife was inside the vehicle, cleaning.
Hi, I am new here, and was very surprized ther wasn't any response other that you. I managed to get turned around by pushing the truck. The left door broke off while in the driveway, the male joint of the door broke when shutting the door. No one can feel comfortable driving down a road and never knowing if you will be hit from behind due to this truck stalling for no reason. There is a procedure for finding a battery draw like that. I am not alone in my complaint. Whenever I try to crank the negine all power goes out.
In both cases, there was no warning of a pending failure. The vehicle has been well maintained and the front end had been checked a few months earlier by a competent mechanic when new shocks were installed. I had to have my car towed 30 miles each way to my mechanic. When adding transmission fluid to your Jimmy, be sure to add it slowly as it will fill up quickly and is difficult to remove excess fluid if you overfill. Gm also has had notorious intake manfold leak problems; which I feel they should have recalled. Consumer talked to bbb today, they said that the consumer might be getting a call from gm.
Now there is a noise consistent with a speed around 55 mph. I bought it from a Ford dealer they said it was the valve body it would cost 650. What recourse do I have?. They corrected the problem by replacing the entire cd player. By looking online it seems that this is a common failure to this transmission. The truck had a transmission leak. This was not a component failure, but is a design failure that apparently involves all gm trucks and suvs of this model.

In January 2004 the vehicle was involved in an accident, it struck a parked car at a speed of about 30 mph and the air bags did not deploy. The wiring harness has been taking out of the jimmy and checked with a continuity by digtial meter and couldn;t find any broken or crossed wires. I had 93 jimmy neve had any major problems with it, but this 1999 is somehting elese. Its a big vehicle and to swerve side to side scares other vehicles on the highway, which puts everybody at risk everytime I'm on the road.

Seats and structure of handles break easily and last for maybe 35,000, new hubs required by 40,000, bail joints fail without warning creating serious road hazards, alternator failure, ujoint failure. If it's a defect, recall it and fix it.
