Goto Audio Setting,go down to resetting the audio functions,now it going back to the factory setting,if it is the tv,that will help. The representative will likely take you through some additional troubleshooting steps over the phone and dispatch a repair technician if necessary. You wouldn't miss those tv speakers one bit.
I made sure it is 'enabled'. Your volume might also be turned all the way down. I'd hate to buy another receiver, as my current Samsung receiver has perfect sound in my opinion. Is the Mute button on? You can always turn to your cable provider's technical support service, but often enough, exercising some basic troubleshooting on your own can resolve the problem and save you valuable time. I have the exact same problem as Cara, which just started today. Now I only get the video. Headphones unplugged but still showing as being plugged into the tv on the volume bar.
