Overall, good movie but too generic to watch over and over. Yes, both Travolta and Meloni are older men, but they were super bad dudes and were a great duo--and both looked very fit. It is amazing anybody would have put up the money for this tripe. The title, Stanley's tattoo and the buddy relationship with Dennis all scream comic hero series. Speaking of tough guys, Christopher Meloni turned in an affable performance providing support and a touch of one-liner comedy. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! Stanley refuses to accommodate this stranger.
Wouldn't we all like to have the powers and abilities of a superhero, crime lord or kung fu master to turn life's misfortunes to our advantage and simultaneously discourage the criminals and jerks of the world from repeating or continuing their repugnant behavior? My guess is that when they realized how old Travolta had gotten, there only solution was to toss Meloni into the mix. The bad guys being so over the top it makes you want them dead. Senseless killing to start the ball rolling, then it quickly becomes obvious that there is a lot of corruption around. You find out there was more too it, so it explains why it was over the top for a simple robbery. Out of seeming nowhere, a thug with a tattoo on his face appears and appeals to them for a small loan.
His hair had a nice tint added instead of it being all black. When Detective Gibson Sam Trammell and other corrupt police officers are unable and unwilling to bring the killers to justice, Stanley turns to his old friend Dennis Christopher Meloni and decides to take matters into his own hands. The plot is familiar, but is only an excuse for the action scenes. But what makes the whole thing eye-rollingly awful is its utter predictability. Cutups about Travolta's hair piece is ridiculous.
I really thought at one point Meloni was done for surrounded by three murderous drug punks, one with a. Predictable in places but that just adds to the overall feel of the movie. The plot concerns a crooked politician's efforts to cover up corruption. Travolta and most of the main cast provide a very passable acting effort, a couple of the bad guys acting was not really that great but on the whole. You knew right from the beginning why the wife was killed, who ordered the hit, and why the corrupt cops could do nothing about it. I really thought at one point Meloni was done for surrounded by three murderous drug punks, one with a.
Trav is a bit like his character from Reservoir Dogs, plenty of kicking ass. Those are usually the bad guys. . In terms of the little B action movies that have been coming out this is definitely one of the best ones, but again this movie has been done over and over and is just not all that exciting. Just watched this film and really enjoyed it. If truth be told, he would look good bald.
Really good film about corruption, and where it stops, and just when you think everything is done, it's not, a little more to go. While on his way home she is murdered. The villains are nearly all so stereotypical menacing people of color with big guns, tattoos, and seedy hangouts that you have to wonder whether the filmmakers are purposely promoting a pro-gun, pro-vigilante as long as said vigilante is white agenda. It uses every, absolutely every known cliché to human kind, that all the twists of the film can be guessed at the opening credits even if you have turned off your brain almost comatose like state. Elements of several movie franchises are crammed into one very messy omelet of trope and cliché. Parents need to know that I Am Wrath is a thriller about a former mercenary who goes on a revenge-fueled bender after his wife is killed under suspicious circumstances. I really haven't got a problem with vigilante type films and have enjoyed other clones that have followed Death Wish such as Death Sentence which I thought was excellent.
My personal yet insignificant congratulations to all the cast. How does it usually work out? The movie has so many plot holes, continuity errors and thick headed moments your eyes will hurt from so much rolling. Once you can get past this and the Botox face, the film becomes a decent vigilante movie. It was so bad, I couldn't keep from watching it. The story here sees Stanley Hill John Travolta hunting down the crew that killed his wife. Poster Country United States Directed by Chuck Russell Release Date 2016 Language English Studio Patriot Pictures Distributor Saban Films Main Cast Character Actor Stanley Hill Dennis I Am Wrath is a 2016 revenge thriller starring as Stanley, a former Special Forces operative now living a quiet life until his wife is murdered during a robbery.
Originally Nick Cage was cast to play the lead, perhaps he's become wise enough to sniff out a stinker. I Am Wrath isn't completely terrible, but it's the sort of film that's so generic and so safe you'll likely be predicting what's going to happen 5 minutes before it does. I have never seen her before, but I like to see her again. All out revenge is the dish of the day, and rightly so. The twists are so overt and so clue heavy, it is hard to even tag them as a twist.
